Amy Butler is one of my favorite fabric designers.  Many of her designs are inspired by nature, and have coordinating fabrics which are grouped together by themes.  This saves me an immense amount of time when I create a design using multiple fabrics. Her fabric is also very durable and comes in a medium-weight which is fabulous for making bags, pillows and aprons.  I made this utility apron using the Daisy Chain Wildflowers Navy(shown in the right column), and a navy denim lining that I found at the local fabric store.

This apron design is ideal for gardening!  I carry my pruning shears, scissors, staking tape, and seed packets to assist me when I garden. I found this patten in a book by Lexie Barnes. Sew What! Utility Aprons/Tool Belts

As my business evolves, I come to realize that change is a good thing.  I came up with the idea of making these aprons/belts when I needed a handy organizer to carry and store my sewing tools in while I was sewing projects. Thanks to a book by Lexie Barnes, I found a DIY sewing project that allowed me to have the freedom to design and customize something that has become one of my top sellers!
